EPDM - is abbreviated from Ethylene Propylene
Diene Mornomer, and as its not the easiest name to remember, its
generally known to everyone as EPDM. Although a synthetic
rubber, it has the material qualities of natural rubber, with
water resistance, high elasticity, good flexibility and tear
strength. However, unlike natural rubber, this product can
be modified to suit a particular situation, and the
specification to meet the individuals application requirements.
The popularity of this particular roofing system has exploded
over the last few years, where more and more householders are
realising that this system of flat roofing is the modern answer.
The product is generally fitted in one piece, thereby reducing
the problems usually associated with other flat roofing systems
of tearing, cracking and peeling joints.

The current life expectancy of an EPDM roof is
around 50 years, but this length of time is ever increasing as
statistical evidence is proving.
EPDM is environmentally
friendly, and stands up well against other flat roofing
materials such as PVC or Bituminous products.
EPDM has been used extensively over a wide range of climactic
conditions, specifically in the Middle East, Central USA and
Northern Alaska with outstanding results.
Here at S. Middleton & Son Roofing Specialists, we offer
a comprehensive installation service. This coupled with
our experience of EPDM, will ensure a first class job that will
be trouble and worry free.
